The accent in the lesson is a British English accent.
There many words in English that end in ed:
Regular verbs in the past simple form.
The past participles of regular verbs
and
Certain adjectives
There are 3 different ways to pronounce - ed
/d/
after a vowel sound or a diphthong sound
after a voiced consonant sound. (except after the /d/ sound)
/t/
after an unvoiced consonant sound. (except after the /t/ sound)
and /ɪd/
after a /d/ or /t/ sound.
Note that this particular pronunciation adds an extra syllable to the end of the word.
