- run / bump into someone / something - this can be literal (hit a car) or idiomatic (meet someone by chance)
- How's it going? - an informal way to ask 'how are you?'
- Want to grab a coffee - an informal way to say, 'do you want to meet for coffee'
- to meet a friend / to meet up with a friend (these both mean the same thing)
- to meet someone for the first time (I met my wife in Ecuador) - in this example, we can't use 'meet up'
