The three words that Americans (sometimes) don't understand in a British accent are:
1. Jack
2. water
3. can't
JACK: VOWEL LENGTH
The difference here is the length of the vowel.

WATER: /T/ & DROPPED /R/
Did you notice that the American version uses the /d/ sound while the British version uses the /t/ sound.
Additionally, in British English, the /r/ sound is often dropped and replaced by the schwa.

CAN'T: DIFFERENT VOWEL SOUND
In American English, the vowel sound for CAN and CAN'T is the same. In British English, it's different.
